Update And My Apologies

"THANKS!"

First, I want to say a big "thank you" to everyone who has joined with me to learn more about marketing online. I'd like to give you a little update on what's going on and tell you something that will help your online business that the big marketers don't want you to know. It's 11PM here right now and I'm getting up @ 3:30AM to drive (8hr) the fam to Chicago for a huge picnic and spend the weekend up there with some great friends of ours (In the Chicago area and want to connect? Email me, I'd love it!). So I'm trying to get this email out to you so I can go crash for a couple hours of much-needed sleep.

I've been sending a number freebies from marketers I've met - have you liked them? Do you not want to receive the free content or do you really like it? - Let me know!

My Apologies - The Download Link Is Working Now

I know most of you have downloaded my latest e-book where I talk about how my business doubled while I was away on "vacation" for 6 months (if you haven't downloaded it, you can get it here: http://million.unrealwebtraffic.com/business_doubling_vacation_secret.php -  I tell about the Million Visitors Tool I'm using, and more importantly why it works - principles you can use in building your line business).

Well, two days ago we updated the website with some new code and it (accidentally) started emailing out a bad link to those who had requested the Business Doubling "Vacation" Secret ebook, if you clicked the link you just ended up at the Million Visitor Tool. My apologies - that's now been corrected, the link in your email is still "wrong" but it will work anyway, you can go back and click it again and download the ebook. Sorry for any problems this has caused and a big thanks to Tony for pointing it out to me!

Adoption Update

Those of you who have read the e-book or were with me back in January know that I went to Haiti to pick up our adopted children. Just a quick update - we're going before an immigration judge August 6th to determine if the older two children's adoption can be finalized. We have to come up with some hefty money to pay for the filings, but we have faith it will happen. If you haven't read the story of my 11 days in Haiti right after the earthquake and seen the 120+ photos I put in that ebook, you can download it here: http://www.myhaitianadoption.org/trips/journal-earthquake-rescue-jan-23-feb-2/.

Can you believe when I let everyone on my list know about my trip to Haiti right before I left - I had a number of people drop off the list and criticize me for helping our adopted children!?! I was pretty shocked. Can you hit "reply" and let me hear a little positive feedback to counteract that initial negativity I received? THANKS!

OK, now on with what the big marketers don't want you to hear:

You don't need to buy any more products, ebooks, courses, videos, etc.

Well, you don't need to buy any more until you really know what you need. And the only way to really know what you need is to first have a comprehensive plan - something that will guide you for the next year or two of growing your business.

Until you have a plan, how do you know what you really need?

We have this basic urge to just buy buy buy. I've got it in me too. I'm working on my plan, so far it has 18 different components (and I'm not finished detailing it yet either). But it's comprehensive - it covers it all! And with the amount of my plan that is finalized I know exactly what I need to be working on today, and I know exactly how I'm going to get to making $100k a month.

But even knowing that I still face the temptation every day to buy another product. I just saw one yesterday. It was $97, and it alone was worth that much. And they had it packaged with 7 or 8 other products that all were awesome power-packed content that I'm sure I could use.

But I passed it all up.

I know it doesn't fit into my immediate plan, so I didn't need to buy it. Oh, I wanted to buy it, but I didn't need it.

And I got to thinking about this. You know, if all we do is buy the next product we see that looks so good but we really don't need, then all we're doing is wasting money.

We can spend our entire online "career" doing nothing but learning, but never really doing anything.

And this is a powerful principal - in order to call ourselves Internet Marketers we have to be doing Internet Marketing.

So, I encourage you to do like I'm doing, start working on your comprehensive plan. And then evaluate everything you come across - is it something you need today? NO? OK, pass it by and "get back to work" ;-D.

I'm calling my plan the "Master Plan". Yes, I know, it sounds a little corny, I haven't really thought of a cool name for it yet.

Here are some questions to help you start thinking about your "Master Plan":

  1. Do you have a sales funnel that takes people in the front end and walks them through to a "final destination" sale that you're selling? Think "products", each building on the last.
  2. Do you know how to get that traffic to the front of the funnel? Think "building your list" (much faster, more affordable, and effective than seo, blogging, etc even though you may do those things too).
  3. Do you know how to get your list started with *no one* on it? Every marketer had to start here, SO THERE MUST BE A WAY (AND I'VE FOUND IT!).
  4. Do you know how to keep the people going down the funnel? Think relationship building
  5. Do you know how to get other people to do more work building your business than you do? Ummm, I don't want to tell you this one yet, so I'll just say "Think about it." ;-D.

I hope this is just a little to get you "thinking" in the right direction.

There's a lot of info out there and I meet people every day that have been around Internet Marketing for a couple years and are completely overwhelmed and don't even really know where to start.

Let me help!

My goal in Unreal Web Traffic .com is to help give you clear direction so you don't waste your time and money on trash products or things that don't really fit into your big picture.

One Last Word

You CAN do this. It's not rocket science. Let's work on your "Master Plan" first and then start putting the pieces in that you really need, not the ones someone wants you to really buy.

Don't forget to drop me a line - I'd like to hear from you.

Here's to your success!

  1. Incredible…I haven’t even finished reading the post…people actually criticized you for helping your adopted children? That is incredible that they would do that!

  2. Yes, even some of our friends were critical in the beginning towards our adoption.
